The Luddster and Luddism

My view is not going with new High Tech solutions for the very sake of it being new. Only if it's an improvement that add some value such as solveing some problem will I go with a new technology.

I an so frustrated with the Gadget De Jour, Language De Jour or jumping on what ever the new and latest fad is. It's the very lack of this clear thinking that allows a company like Microsoft to rull the market inspite of there lack of forsite or consideration for security.

In particular what really gets me is those who constanly keep upgrading there OS and hardware keep breaking all of older software and hardware that is still valuable forcing users to make a sacrife. A new version should not kill all the older software and configurations from past versions!

I Myself would hardly qualify as a luddite in the normal sense, I live, eat and breath technology and by most peoples standards are about as high tech as you can get.
